About me

I'm a leadership coach, public speaker, and someone who plays a key role in Global Games, which runs some of the biggest junior events in the country, connecting over 250,000 people to date. My leadership journey began in 2016 in Wellington, New Zealand, when a few mates stepped into management roles, turning to him for guidance. At the time, he was managing an IT team of 40 in government and thought, “This could be a fun side hustle.”

It soon became clear that there was a real need out there. People didn't want much, just a little bit of support! Fast forward to 2024, and leading a team of 160 plus, and my 9–5 executive role was disestablished. I backed himself and launched colintepohe.net. An online coaching business dedicated to giving new manager's a leg up and help them build some solid foundations for their journey as a people leader.

Since then, my work has expanded beyond coaching to speaking at conferences and delivering workshops, sharing practical lessons with leaders and teams across all industries.

I work with clients virtually across the globe, offering both one-on-one and group coaching sessions online, making leadership development accessible from the comfort of your own couch.

Outside of coaching, Col I am a first-time dad, a rugby referee, and the Operations Director behind festivals that bring thousands of kids together each year to grow, thrive, and have fun in some of the most unforgettable locations.

Leadership isn’t just for the office. It’s on the sidelines, in the community, and at home.

If you're ready to level up your skills, looking for a public speaker or just want to talk - Let’s chat.

From undermined to unstoppable

Take Sohan, for example. When he was promoted from team leader to manager, not everyone was happy for him. Senior team members, frustrated they’d been passed over, actively undermined him—turning his early days in leadership into a real challenge.

But Sohan didn’t give up. After just one month of coaching with me, he began to back himself. His confidence grew, his leadership presence sharpened, and he started thriving in the very role others tried to push him out of. Within a year he'd outgrown his team. Inspired by his growth, he applied for and secured a management role in Sri Lanka, where he and his wife now live, building their dream life together.

Sohan didn’t just step up. He stepped into the leader he was always meant to be.

"Col's unwavering support and belief in my abilities, empowered me to exceed my own expectations and reach new heights in my career. I am profoundly grateful for his mentorship and guidance, which have left an indelible mark on my professional journey. Thank you for inspiring me to achieve greatness"

Real connection, real growth

My coaching style is relaxed, down-to-earth, and grounded in real connection. I don’t take life too seriously. I believe growth happens best when we’re enjoying the process. Expect a few laughs, straight talk, and a supportive space where we work together to make real progress. I am most passionate about giving people a leg up, and providing them the support they all need, but will never get. You can expect results from our first discussion.
